Liat Walker - Managing Director – Liat worked for 17 years for national law firm Allens Arthur Robinson in property, banking and finance and litigation. Liat attributes her knowledge, success and ability to deliver to clients to her training at Allens Arthur Robinson under the direction of some of Australia’s leading lawyers.
Liat believed that there was a need within the community and strata title industry for a service which specialised in Body Corporate Law. Liat established Collect Success in 2003, and in May 2009 Liat joined forces with Ros Janes to establish Success Law.
As Managing Director of Success Law, Liat is dedicated to ensuring the delivery of its services to its clients in a manner which is both client focused, and timely and cost effective.
Liat and Ros Janes and their dedicated team of experienced lawyers and paralegals, strive to provide clients of Success Law with a ‘one-stop shop’ for advice on all legal issues which may impact on Bodies Corporate.
Ros Janes - Director – Ros’ dedication to the legal industry saw her commence her law degree after working for 15 years, firstly as a secretary and then as a paralegal specialising in property and banking and finance law. It was Ros’ experience in property law that saw her develop a passion for body corporate
and strata title law. Ros commenced studying for her law degree in 1990 whilst continuing to work part time and was admitted as a solicitor in 1995.
Ros is a recognised specialist in the field of body corporate and community title law, having practised in the area for the past 15 years.
Ros is a former state delegate to the National Community Titles Institute. She is a fellow and a past director of the Community Titles Institute Queensland and is currently a member of the legislation committee of the Community Titles Institute of Queensland.
Ros is also a founding and fellow member of the Australian College of Community Association Lawyers Inc. and a current council member and its treasurer. The primary focus of Ros’ practice is bodies corporate, however she also acts for developers, resident unit managers and lot owners throughout Queensland.
Ros wrote the first book on the Body Corporate and Community Management Act 1997 ‘The BCCMA for Everybody’, which was published in 1998.
Natalie Andersen - Solicitor – Natalie has a background in property law, having worked in the industry since 2000, firstly as a legal secretary/paralegal and then commencing her law degree in 2001.
Natalie was admitted as a solicitor in 2006 and commenced working with Ros in 2007.
Natalie specialises in strata and community title law and advises Bodies Corporate on all aspects of the Body Corporate and Community Management Act 1997 and the associated regulation modules.
Natalie has a particular interest in management rights and advises Bodies Corporate on all aspects, including the entry into, the assignment, variation and extension of these agreements. Natalie also acts in the sale and purchase of management rights on behalf of resident unit managers.
Natalie advises developers on all facets of establishing a community titles scheme, including the preparation of ‘off the plan’ contracts and associated documents, which includes the drafting of by-laws contained in community management statements.
Natalie also assists Bodies Corporate and lot owners in the preparation of applications and submissions to the Office of the Commissioner for Body Corporate and Community Management and the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal, including applications for the adjustment of lot entitlements.
Michelle Badke – Operations Manager – Michelle commenced employment at Allens Arthur Robinson in 1999. Michelle gained her legal knowledge and experience from working in various legal departments within the firm and more particularly in body corporate levy recovery matters under the supervision of Liat. Michelle assisted Liat with the set up of Collect Success in 2003. Michelle is responsible for overseeing all operations in the levy recovery processes and office management and administration.
Katrina Stewart – Paralegal – Katrina commenced employment with Allens Arthur Robinson in 1996. Katrina worked in the banking and finance sector and became involved in levy recovery matters in 2001. After 11 years at Allens Arthur Robinson joined Collect Success in 2007. Katrina also assisted Liat in 2003 in setting up the debt recovery precedents and continues to play an integral part in the maintaining of precedents in compliance with governing legislation and the Uniform Civil Procedure Rules.
